Ameet D. Patel

Ameet Patel is a member of the firm’s public entity practice group. Prior to joining the firm in December of 2022, Mr. Patel was a police officer with the City of Concord where his assignments included field training officer (FTO), K9, SET (street level narcotics/firearms task force), and participating in Contra Costa County VSET (stolen vehicle recovery task force). During his 15 years at the police department, he led various teams in several categories of arrests and earned multiple commendations.
Mr. Patel attended Santa Clara University School of Law while continuing to work as a police officer full time. He subsequently graduated on the dean’s list, cum laude, receiving several distinguished awards including a Witkin Award and an honor for Best Oral Advocate in Appellate Advocacy. In 2015, he served as an Intern at the California Public Utilities Commission, assisting in Commission hearings, regulatory research, and contract review. Mr. Patel continued to work as a police officer until medically retiring in 2022 and joining the team at Allen Glaessner Hazelwood & Werth, LLP.
Mr. Patel also received his B.S and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Management from Santa Clara University. After college, he worked as a mechanical engineer on Future Combat Systems vehicle platforms at BAE Systems. While there, he served as a test director, coordinating testing for a multimillion-dollar, advanced tank artillery system being developed.
