Dana K. Oium
Associate
Dana Oium is a member of the firm’s public entity practice group. Her practice focuses on defending police officers and departments in civil rights litigation, including Fourth and Fourteenth Amendment claims, which cover a range of issues including use of force, search and seizure, and due process. Ms. Oium also defends public entities in personal injury and dangerous conditions claims. Ms. Oium has experience litigating all phases of cases including handling pre-litigation investigation, pleading and motion practice, discovery and depositions, and preparing cases for trial.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Oium worked at the San Francisco office of a national firm focusing on representing commercial entities and individuals related to personal injury and real property damage claims arising from environmental exposure. Previously, Ms. Oium worked for a small boutique law firm litigation defense firm where she handled medical malpractice, premises liability, product liability, trucking-related claims and habitability lawsuits. In her medical malpractice work, she successfully defended physicians and hospitals throughout the Bay Area including claims of medical malpractice, elder abuse, and premises liability. She also defended personal injury claims on behalf of a national parcel delivery corporation and an international elevator and escalator manufacturer.
In her spare time, Ms. Oium enjoys gardening, cooking, learning to golf, exploring the greater Bay Area and supporting the Bay Area’s sports teams.
